John's journey through life was marked by a series of captivating chapters that spanned continents and cultures. His early years were a tapestry of international experiences, shaped by his father, who worked for Chrysler Automotive. At the tender age of 5, John's family relocated to the picturesque landscapes of Switzerland. It was there, nestled near the border of France, that John learned to speak fluent French. John's adolescence was spent amidst the breathtaking Alps, where his parents helped introduce bowling to the area. Surrounded by the majestic beauty of Switzerland, John cultivated a deep appreciation for nature and a love for outdoor pursuits that would endure throughout his lifetime.
In 1999, John settled in Warren, Michigan, where he planted roots. John's interests were as diverse as the places he had visited. He had a passion for bowling that was sparked in his childhood, and he spent countless hours perfecting his game on the lanes. Golfing, hunting, computers, and exploring the great outdoors were among his favorite pastimes.
An avid enthusiast of motorcycles and classic cars, John found solace in the open road, reveling in the freedom and exhilaration that came with riding his Harley or tinkering with his vehicles. He also had an unwavering admiration for the music of Willie Nelson, whose melodies served as the soundtrack to many cherished memories.
Above all else, John cherished the company of his family and friends. His warm smile and infectious laughter lit up every room he entered, bringing joy to all who had the privilege of knowing him. He will be remembered for his kind heart, adventurous spirit, and razor-sharp wit.
John was the loving father of the late Bob, Tim (Amy), and Daniel. Dear brother of Jim (Megan) Heyl. He is also survived by many loving nieces, nephews, and family members.
Visitation for John will be held on Thursday, February 15th from 3-9pm with a Funeral Service at 7:30pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI.
