He was born on September 26, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. With thanks & praise from a grateful nation, we pay homage to John for his service to our country during the Korean War era. A soldier in the United States Army, he served actively from March of 1955 through March of 1957. For his call to duty and sacrifices made, we honor John for his bravery and patriotism in helping to preserve the cause of freedom and liberty. Not long after his return from military service, John's life was wonderfully changed when he took the love of his life to be his wife, his beloved Jeannette. The two would go on to share 52 years growing more in love, building a home together, and raising two beautiful children.John was employed as a commercial artist by trade, but his creativity and talents were prevalent throughout his personal life as well. Whether at work or home, his expressions within the realm of the arts were both unique and innovative. On the personal side, two of his specialties were realized in painting and woodworking. When he wasn't working or immersed in his artistry, one of John's favorite pastimes was getting back to nature by heading out with the family on one of their many camping excursions. He also loved to travel, especially when it was time to flee the wintry mix of Michigan for the warmth and sunshine of Pompano Beach, Florida,...his home away from home. Every year, there was a special excitement and anticipation that accompanied his Snowbird treks to the south. Seeking the warmer climate for winter also included his trips to Texas to visit his son and family which was always a special treat.A loving husband, father, grandfather and friend, John's care and love for his family and friends was unmatched by any other. An endearing trait that made him both unique and genuine was his sharp wit and engaging sense of humor. He loved bringing joy into the lives around him, and had a special knack of infusing laughter everywhere he went. He touched a multitude of lives along life's way and leaves a legacy of love that is strong and true. He will be missed immensely and loved eternally. He was the beloved husband of Jeannette.
