Joe Lopez

Joe Lopez age 75 of Warren, died Thursday April 18, 2013 at his home in Warren. Joe was born December 10, 1937 in Holden West Virginia, the son of the late Emelio and the late Carmen Lopez. Joe was raised in West Virginia; however when the coal mines started closing the family moved to Michigan in search of a better life. Joe worked for Key Welder as a skilled trades welder from 1969 until 1994. Back in the early 1980's Joe and his family sold all their worldly goods and moved to Hawaii. While living in Honolulu the family opened and operated an Italian Restaurant and Joe also worked on Ships as a welder for two brief years before returning to Michigan. Joe worked as a welder for Paslin Corporation from 1994 until his retirement in 2002.Joe was a hands on guy who enjoyed hard work and also loved the simple pleasures in life that included bowling, playing keno and scratch off lotto tickets. He also enjoyed playing horseshoes with the boys and further spent quiet time at home watching all the old Turner Movie Classics of cowboy movies. Joe especially favored the John Wayne movies. In his younger years he also loved to deer hunt and fish.Joe was the beloved husband of Sharon, and the cherished father of Angela (Steve) Matuscak, Anthony John Lopez, Tina Marie Lopez, John Emelio (Laurie Ann) Lopez, and the late Joe Lopez Jr. He was the dear brother of Sam Lopez, and the late Teresa Lopez. Visitation for Mr. Lopez will be Monday from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ mile). Funeral Services will be held Tuesday 11am at the Funeral Home.
