Jerry Wilbur Jeffrey, age 68, died suddenly Thursday, March 30, 2017 at his home in Warren, Michigan. Jerry was born May 10, 1948 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, son of the late Hector Jeffrey and the late Helen (nee: Wright) Jeffrey.At the young age of four, Jerry moved with his family to Detroit, Michigan. He was raised on the Southwest side of Detroit graduating from Holy Redeemer Catholic High School. Following his schooling, Jerry gained employment as a short order cook and later worked for Michigan Bell as a truck driver. Driving trucks became Jerry's profession for the remainder of his working years. He was employed by several different companies including Faygo and P&B McGregor as a truck driver and faithful member of the Teamsters.When Jerry was not working, he was an active father raising his children. He coached little league baseball for many years in Detroit while raising his sons. He also was passionate about maintaining his yard and garden. At the end of the day Jerry could be found outdoors grilling on the BBQ or watching the Detroit Tigers or Detroit Red Wings. In his earlier years, he enjoyed bowling, playing cards with family and friends, and also visiting his family in Gulf Shores, Alabama. As Jerry became more homebound, he was passionate about playing the games Farmville and Farmtown,...however his focus always returned back to his family and grandchildren.Jerry was the loving husband of Kathleen, and the dear father of Jerry J. (DeeAnna) Jeffrey, Joe (Lori) Jeffrey, Maria Jowske, Jason (Chantell) Jeffrey, Jonathon (Beth) Jeffrey, Mathew Jeffrey, and Jay (Jennie) Davis. He was the beloved brother of Joyce Jeffrey, Carolyn (Jessie) Petrous-Manno, and the cherished grandfather of Elizabeth, Michael, Maria, Miranda, Tabatha, Joey, Jessica, Bella, Doug, William, Michelle, Ryan, Jadzia, Daniele, and great-grandfather of Neo and Tyler. Visitation for Jerry will be held Sunday, April 2nd from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Road) in Warren. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, 11:00 am at the Funeral Home. Officiating the Funeral Services will be Reverend Fr. Thomas Slowinski. Please share memories of Jerry at his memory book above.
