Janice was an incredibly talented photographer, winning many local awards. She loved surrounding herself in the magnificence of the nature she captured so perfectly with her camera. She always found beauty in things others could not see; proving this beauty through her macro shots of insects, which seemed to sit perfectly still as she pursued their picture. Nature preserves, parks, and zoos were some of her favorite places to pass the time. When she was younger, Janice loved to spend time camping with her family. When she was back home in the suburbs, she would adventure into thrift stores hunting for treasures. Family meant the world to her, and she adored cheering on her nieces and nephews at their sports games and recitals.
Janice was a very spiritual person, believing in Christianity but also in self-actualization. She had a constant desire for knowledge, reading books on nature, true crime, and anything that caught her interest. When she became interested in a topic, she would dive into a quest for everything she could find out about it. Tenacious and strong willed, Janice lived by her own terms, and made the best of what life brought her way.
Janice is the loving mother of Jason (Erica) Sherman. The dear sister of Linda Trewin, Elaine Nadolski, Marjorie Lopez, and the late Karen Erman. Janice is survived by her godchildren Julie Erman Kadlitz and Joseph Lopez, her many cherished nieces and nephews, and her beloved cats Button and Racey.
