James T. Prill

Prill, James T., age 86, August 20, 2022. Beloved husband of Barbara for 57 years. Dear father of Patricia (Miles) Hildebrand. Proud grandfather of Jackson Hildebrand. Jim was preceded in death by his brother Floyd and sisters Marion Zielonka and Eleanor Shereda. He is survived by his sister-in-law Judith (James) Tammi, nephews Chris (Edene) Zielonka, Alan Zielonka and niece Donna Zielonka. He will be loved and missed by his extended family Tony, Betsy and Julie, and friends, especially the “Gang of 8”: Peggy & Case, Donna & Louie, Diane & Tim. The gang have been very close friends for over 50 years.

Jim proudly served as a police officer for 25 years in the City of Detroit. He had a love for bulldogs and boating at the cottage in Caseville, but he also enjoyed a good beer and could often be found at The Victory Inn. His friends will greatly miss him, his many stories and his prolific jokes he would tell over the years. Jim also loved watching the Detroit Red Wings and boxing.

A Celebration of Life take place on Wednesday, September 14, 2022 from 3pm to 7pm at Roger's Roost, 33626 Schoenherr Road in Sterling Heights. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Michigan Humane Society.
