Jack Harold Belz, age 82 of Port Sanilac, died, April 29, 2008 in Romeo. Jack was born August 11, 1925 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Fred Belz and the late Helena (nee: Thiede) Belz. He is survived by his wife Lizzetta Liz. He is the loving father of Cheryl (Conrad) Dean, and Kim (Scott) Wiegand. Dearest grandfather of Scott, Michelle, Renee, Amy, Melissa, and Heather. Mr. Belz was born and raised in Detroit and graduated from the Henry Ford Trade School. After his schooling Jack served in the United States Army during World War II fighting during the battle of the Bulge. Mr. Belz attained the rank of Tec 5th Grade. He enlisted on November 24, 1943 at Ft. Sheridan, IL and discharged on March 26, 1946 at Camp Atterbury, IN. When Mr. Belz returned after the war he opened his own gas station until a bus crashed into the station destroying his business. He would later become a truck driver for the next 40 years. He worked for Rossbach Cartage and Detroit Delivery. Jack was also a member of the Teamsters Local 299. Jack Belz was a family man who enjoyed his time at his home in Port Sanilac, surrounded by his family, grandchildren, friends, and some cold beer. Visitation for Mr. Belz will be Thursday from 2:30-9 pm, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 mile). Funeral Services will be held Friday 11 am at the Funeral Home. Officiating the Funeral Service will be Rev. Daryl Zink. Interment will follow at Resurrection Cemetery.
