Grace Hice

She was born November 11, 1937 in Detroit, MI to Henry and Grace M. (Feeney) VanFleteran.

Grace obtained her Bachelor and Masters teaching degrees and began her career as a Second Grade Teacher with Warren Consolidated School District were she remained for 32 years as a beloved leadership beacon to 1000’s of students and parents. Tough but Compassionate, even having a Macomb County Court House Peregrine Falcon named in her honor!

Grace was a strong willed, empowering woman and enjoyed encouraging others to find the same strengths within many volunteer community programs she was active in.

She was a world traveler and was always on the go with friends globe-trotting the sands of Hawaii, the cliffs of Alaska or the rivers of Europe.

She is survived by her children, Michael (Carol) Hice and Donald (Tracy) Hice, Grandchildren Mitchell Hice, Heather (Brandon) Creager, Jennifer (Matt) McKay, Step Grandchildren Lisa Szafranski, Jamie (Jameson) Keating-Ehlers and (10) great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her Parents and son Patrick.

Visitation for Grace will take place Saturday, September 28th, 2024, 12:00 pm - 6:00 pm at

A.H. Peters Funeral Home. 32000 Schoenherr, Warren, MI. 48088. A memorial service will follow at 6:00 pm.
