Florence Josephine Start

Florence came to the United States at age seventeen to be with her now deceased parents Anita (nee: Nebiolo) and Luigi Giannotti. She was married to the late Edward C. Start in 1942, until his passing in 2009 at age 90. She is survived by her beloved sisters Louise Ann (Nini) Start and Cherie (Tesio) Broccardo. Loving children Joanne (the late Christopher P. Cynar) Start, the late Eugene Start, and Frances (Mark) Kotwicki. Cherished grandmother of the late Edward Kotwicki, Mark (Nicole Steele) Kotwicki, Rachel Kotwicki. Adored great-grandmother of Betty, George, Pearl, and Jack Kotwicki. Dear aunt of Bob Start, Tom Start, the late Christine (Tom) Pyden, Mary (Gary) Grittini, Michael Start, David Broccardo, Diana Broccardo, and Eric Broccardo; and her nieces and nephews in Italy- Paola (Mimmo) Gaddi, Roberta (Alfredo) Gaddi, the late Anna Gaddi, and Bernardo (Sylvia) Bernardi.

Florence was a wonderful mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, aunt and generous friend to many. She was an avid golfer, a beautiful model in her early career, and an elegant woman.

Visitation for Florence will be held Thursday, January 19th from 3-9pm with a 7pm Scripture Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road, Warren, MI. She will lie In State on Friday, January 20th at 9:00am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 9:30am at St. Martin de Porres Catholic Church, 31555 Hoover Rd, Warren, MI. Burial at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Township, MI.
