Evan Lawrence Urbaniak, age 24 of Warren, died Monday, July 21, 2014 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor. He was born on January 29, 1990 in Grosse Pointe, son of Edward Lawrence Urbaniak and Julie Ann (nee: Carnes) White.A life gone far too soon from our presence, we can only hope that reflections of Evan's love & compassion will soothe the soul, temper the heartache, and unite the lives of those who were blessed to know him and be loved by him. Dearest of all would have to be his new bride of just over 2 months, Michaelanne Leola. On April 26th at the Sterling Inn, Evan & Michaelanne shared their wedding vows and began their new, young lives together on the journey of marriage. Evan worked as an automotive mechanic and was employed by the Crest Lincoln Mercury dealership in Sterling Heights. When he wasn't working, Evan enjoyed a vast array of pastimes and activities that defined his hunger for all things motorized. Being a mechanic by trade, it made perfect sense that his hobbies would also be centered around engines and wheels. When it came to the 2 wheeled versions, there's no question that he was quite passionate about his motorcycle and dirt bike. Though each provided him a different sense of power and excitement, he certainly had things covered both on & off the road. The next step up on the enjoyment scale included 2 more wheels, this time in his off-road pleasures of 4 wheeling. Getting back to nature had its attraction, but the fun Evan had on an ATV put the cherry on the sundae. On a more tame level,…the sound of an engine was exchanged for a motorized whir, and the wheels became much smaller in his hobby with remote-control cars. It was an entirely different form of control, yet it provided him countless hours of escape and entertainment. For even more action-packed fun, Evan was quite involved in the sports of both paintball and air-soft shooting. The competition was stiff and the exhilaration intense, and he loved every minute of it,…except, of course, when the path of those nasty balls made their way to him. For a more relaxing getaway, Evan loved to seek out a favorite fishing hole and cast his way into the peacefulness and serenity of a day on the water. Always in search of the Big One, he was content with simply trying. Like the saying goes; "the worst day fishing is better than the best day working." Another of Evan's treasured escapes came through his love of music and the sounds that provided a bit of calm amidst the chaos. Something unique to Evan was found in his collection of Rubber-Ducks. That's right,…those of the little yellow squeaky variety,…just one example of Evan's whimsical nature and humorous side that everyone came to love and cherish. His ducks were so treasured, they even made an appearance on each of the tables at his wedding. Yet even more precious than his plastic ducks were his real-life animals & furry friends, Monster, Kayla, Cassie, and Mary the Rottweiler. His dogs were the cat's meow,…and a huge love of his life. He cared for them with an adoration that every pet owner/lover can relate to, and truly understood the meaning of "man's best friend." If United Artists has it right that "All Dog's Go To Heaven," than Evan is sure to enjoy a wonderful reunion one day.A loving husband, son, grandson and friend, Evan leaves a host of warm and wonderful memories for all to cherish with each remembrance shared. His absence leaves a chasm, but the bridge will forever be the part of Evan that lives on within each heart. May he rest in peace.Evan was the beloved husband of Michaelanne, and the dear son of Julie (David) White and Edward L. Urbaniak. Loving brother of Cathryn (Ronnie Davis) Urbaniak and Cecily Urbaniak. Cherished grandson of Eileen White, and nephew of Tom (Barb) Urbaniak. Stepfather of Dale Ashbrook, Melissa Ashbrook, and Destiny Chandler. Son-in-law of William & Helen Wilson. He is also survived by many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. Visitation for Evan will be held on Thursday, July 24th from 3-9pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 1/2 Mile Rd) in Warren.
