Elizabeth Theresa Cole age 92, of Livonia, passed away on March 22, 2012 at St. Mary's Hospital in Livionia, Michigan. Up until two weeks before her death she maintained an independent lifestyle while living at the Meadows of Livonia.Elizabeth was born on June 22, 1919 in Detroit Michigan the daughter of the late Nickolaus and the late Elizabeth (nee: Schwanfelder) Flick. She was raised in Detroit and graduated from East Commerce High School. Elizabeth married her sweetheart and later worked as a caterer for her husband's Coles Catering for many years while raising her children and being a wonderful homemaker. During her children's younger years their mother baked every day and spoiled them with the most delicious cooking and pastry treats. She loved to cook big meals for her family and every meal seemed like Thanksgiving. While she and her late husband Bud operated their catering business her forte was desserts and jellos. She also enjoyed tending to her roses, iris', lilacs, and peonies flowers on her property while also maintaining a wonderful garden of which she constantly canned vegetables.Elizabeth and her husband were also avid boaters and for many years maintained different boats at different marinas. However Elizabeth's pride and joy were her grandchildren and family' she took great pride in making sure everyone received cards for all their birthdays and special occasions. Mrs. Cole was the beloved wife of the late DeGorda 'Bud', and the loving mother of Nickolaus (Mary) Cole, Janet (Jasper) Ficara, Kenneth (Debbie) Cole, James Cole (fianc' Moira Gillis), and Marie (Robert) Williams. She was the dear sister of Frank Flick, and the late Charles and Joseph Flick. She is also survived by 12 grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren. Mrs. Cole was predeceased by her daughter in-law Michaline Cole. Visitation for Mrs. Cole will be Sunday from 3-9 pm with a 7 pm Vigil Service at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 Mile Rd). Mrs. Cole will lie In State 9:30am on Monday at St. Ronald Catholic Church, 17701 15 Mile, until the time of Funeral Mass at 10am. Celebrating the Funeral Liturgy will be Msgr. Rev. George Miller.
