Edward Donald Binkowski, “Don,” age 77 of Rochester Hills, passed away Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at Ascension Genesys Hospital in Grand Blanc, Michigan. Don was born April 20, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan, son of the late Edward J. Binkowski and the late Helen M. (nee: Sermusin) Binkowski.
Don was raised on the east side of Detroit in a loving family. He was energetic, even as a young boy, and lived life on his own terms. Being the eldest of three children, Don had a great sense of duty, always protecting his family who he loved very much.
Don would go on to attend and graduate from De LaSalle Collegiate Catholic High School where he was a proud member of the school’s track team. Following high school he attended and graduated from the University of Detroit where he received his Bachelor’s Degree. Don would ultimately become quite the successful builder, a position he shared right alongside his father for many years in Warren, Michigan. He then went on to become the owner / proprietor of his own business, Binkowski Builders, a firm that was noted for the construction of many condominiums, office buildings, apartments, and family homes in the cities of Warren, Rochester, and Rochester Hills, Michigan.
Don’s three children were the love of his life and he was blessed to share many great experiences with them. Among them was Don’s love for the game of golf, a legacy that has been passed down through the generations to include both his children and grandchildren alike. He was forever the ultimate cheerleader for all of their accomplishments in life.
Don was the former husband of Christine Binkowski. Loving father of Brian (Shannon) Binkowski, Jill (Paul) Labroski, and the late Pam Binkowski. He was the dear grandfather of Foster, Morgan, and Christian. Don was the beloved brother of Sharon (Jim) Maund, the late Robert Binkowski, and brother-in-law of Priscilla Binkowski. He is also survived by many other family members and friends.
A Memorial Service for Don will be held at a later date. Please check back in the weeks or months ahead for further updates.
