Born in Detroit to Vivian and the late Charles Hulderman, Chris worked at Wilkinson Middle School in the Madison Heights School District for over 30 years until retirement in the food services department. Because Chris loved to be around kids, Chris loved her job. A heart of gold by nature, Chris was known to pay for school lunch if a kid didn’t have any money on any particular day. In her free time when she and her best friend, Craig Sr., were younger, they would often go to concerts and “up north” whenever they had a chance. She was great at any card game and excelled at any sport she tried. When their son, Craig Jr., was born, Chris treasured being a mom. She spared no expense in throwing the best birthday parties for him. When her siblings had kids of their own, the family stayed very close. Chris was a proud aunt, great aunt, and great great aunt. Just as she was at all of her son, Craig Jr.’s, sporting events, she almost never missed a game for her nieces and nephews — most notably her great niece Dakota. Though everyone knew that she loved anyone that was a part of their family with her whole heart, or anyone who became a part of their family with open arms, there was friendly competition about who was believed to be Chris’s favorite because everyone always wanted to be spending time with her. Later in life as the kids grew up, their family bond only grew stronger, and they would laugh on and on when they went out to karaoke together or whatever adventure they had chosen to do together on any given day. When the family was able to gather together for a meal, Chris cooked all of their favorites. She knew all her recipes by measuring with her heart, pinch of this and a dash of that, and somehow they were always delicious. Everyone had their personal favorite from her cheesy potatoes, lasagna, Mexican cornbread, and so many more. She loved to show off her carpet’s perfect vacuum lines and the way her house was maintained in pristine order. Chris would tell everyone she had the best vacuum lines in town. A deeply beloved mom, daughter, best friend, sister, aunt, and friend to all, Chris will be greatly missed by all who survive her.
