Darquise Marie Rita Izak, age 81 of Warren, died Sunday, December 18, 2016 at home surrounded by her loved ones. She was born October 18, 1935 in Windsor, Ontario, Canada, daughter of the late Oswald Joseph and the alte Alice M. (nee: Therrien) Brissette.As evidenced by the beautiful and representative picture that accompanies this obituary, Darquise was both proud and honored to have served her country as a member of the Royal Canadian Armed Forces. From 1953 thru 1959, she was an integral part of operations during the Korean War era and also at the onset of the Vietnam War. Though a tome could be written about the aspects of Darquise's life that stood out, stood tall, and impacted the hearts and lives of the countless people she touched, it's her service in the RCAF that instilled her with pride beyond expression.Darquise was the beloved mother of Amy (John Mazzola) Izak. Devoted grandmother of Taylor, Cadence, and Gabrielle. Dear sister of Carmen Bradford, Georgette Albainy, Robert Brissette, the late Roger Brissette, and the late Collette Brissette. Visitation for Darquise will be held Tuesday, December 27th from 5-9 pm, with a 7 pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common, (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren. Her Michigan Mass will be held on Wednesday, December 28th where she will lie in state from 10:30 am until the time of her Funeral Mass at 11:00 am at St. Mark Catholic Church, 4401 Bart Avenue, Warren, MI 48091.Her Canadian Mass will be held on Thursday, December 29th where she will lie in state from 1:00 pm until time of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 pm at Visitation Parish Catholic Church, 5407 Comber Side Road in Comber, Ontario, Canada N0P1J0.
