Cynthia Marie Wilson, age 59 of Warren, died Thursday, November 12, 2020 at Beaumont Hospital in Troy, Michigan. She was born December 24, 1960 in Pontiac, Michigan, daughter of the late Frederick Joseph and the late Patricia Kay (nee: Lucas) Whitcher.
Along with the many other venues that benefitted from Cynthia’s knowledge and strengths over the years, she was quite proud of the time spent working as an administrative clerk within the insurance industry. Yet there was no more satisfying work for Cynthia than the love she poured into caring for her family,…especially her precious cherubs, Christine, Katherine & Zachary. Her children were the light of her life and never ceased to infuse her with special joy that she carried wherever she went. She was a hard worker who gave her all in maintaining the comforts of home & hearth, and managed to eke out a little “me time” every now and then. When those times presented themselves, you would have often found Cynthia exercising the “outdoorsy” side of her nature,…specifically through her love of fishing. And there were no better fishing moments than those shared with her handsome groom, Ken. These two angler’s were like Mr. & Mrs. Mort Neff when they headed out to one of their favorite fishing holes. Great company, welcomed conversation, and grand hope were all shared and enjoyed following each cast of their line. Cynthia had come to covet the peacefulness and serenity that often accompanied the sport,…right up until that bobber took a dip,…then it was “Game On, Baby!”
The outdoors also called Cynthia’s name with each occasion she spent camping. She loved the whole camping experience, especially when engaging with all of her fellow “kindred spirits.” For anyone who knows that lifestyle, they’d surely be able to attest to the unique and genuine world it is for those who appreciate the recreational value,…and Cynthia could definitely be counted among the throngs who live for each and every opportunity to share with their “other family” of campers. And of course,…little can beat the joys and pleasures that accompany a roaring campfire shared with family and friends alike.
As for how she enjoyed the indoors,…Cynthia was noted for her skills and talents in the kitchen each time she set out to cook or bake,…both of which she was excellent at doing. All she needed was a stove, an oven and some preparation space, then just step back and watch the magic unfold. Whatever she made was a feast for the senses, and mealtimes were always a coveted time around Cynthia’s dinner table. If you left hungry, you simply weren’t tryin’!
Another favorite indoor treat for Cynthia was rooting on her hometown sports teams. Whether it was the Red Wings, Tigers, Lions, Pistons, or the various college teams she followed,…they had no better nor more devoted fan than Cynthia, a banner waver through thick & thin.
There were also those treasured memories of the road trips she enjoyed each time she headed to New York to visit her sisters. Chewing the scenery along the way was always special for Cynthia,…but the real fun ensued when she was reunited with her siblings.
Cynthia will, likewise, be remembered for her love of dancing and the freeing of her spirit as she expressed herself on the dance floor. As the music pursed through her being and found its way out, it was through her dance steps that the unique and creative side of her truly shone. Just like the moments she shined with each recollection of her childhood. Cynthia grew up making memories to last a lifetime, and she never grew tired of reminiscing nor recounting the many stories of her life,…and people were all ears as they lived each moment along with her.
A loving wife, mother and grandmother, Cynthia leaves a storehouse of wonderful memories to embrace and cherish with each reflection shared. She touched a multitude of hearts and souls in her journey this side of Heaven. May she now enjoy the blessings on the other side as she rests safely in the arms of God. She will be missed immensely and loved eternally.
Cynthia was the beloved wife of Kenneth Albert Wilson. Dearest mother of Christine Ash, Katherine Wilson, and Zachary Wilson. Loving grandmother of Brendan and Kaylee. Cherished sister of Frederick (Theodora) Whitcher, Elizabeth Whitcher, Melissa Whitcher, and the late David Whitcher.
Visitation for Cynthia will be held Monday, November 16th from 3-9 pm, with a 7pm Rosary Service, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd) in Warren, Michigan.
Cynthia will lie in state on Tuesday, November 17th from 9:30 am until time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Anne Catholic Church in Warren. Officiating the funeral liturgy will be Rev. Fr. John Kopson.
