Chester (Czeslaw) Grzelak, of Center Line, age 96, died on Sunday, December 16, 2012.He was born July 6, 1916 in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Joseph and Josephine Grzelak (Kurzawa) and has lived in Center Line since 1954. Chester served in the U.S. Army for six years during World War II. He married his wife Martha (Pelc) on December 31, 1942 in Newport News, Virginia. They resided together in Center Line since 1954. He worked at Howard Plating Industries before he retired in 1977. He served as an usher at St. Clement Church for almost 50 years and was a 3rd degree member of the Knights of Columbus. His interests included golf, bowling and singing Polish songs. Chester is survived by his children Pamela Quinn, Dennis (Diana) Grzelak and Corrine Brodsky; loving grandfather of Erin, Michael, Ryan, Martin and Deidra; great grandfather of Molly; and several beloved nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his beloved wife Martha; brothers, Edward and Ted; sister-in-laws Irene (Edward) Hedwig (Casimer) Jakubiak and Sophia (Louis) Master; brothers-in-law Walter, Adam, Stanley, Julian, Florian, Edward and Frank; and his son-in-law, Thomas Quinn.Mr. Grzelak will lie in state Tuesday, January 8, 2013 at 9:30 am until the time of his Funeral Mass at 10:00 am at St. Mary Our Lady Queen of Families Church - St. Clement Catholic Church. Entombment will follow at St. Clement Cemetery. Arrangements entrusted to the D.S.
