Charles A. Ruff, 80, of Warren died Sunday, July 13, 2008 at Wm. Beaumont Hospital, Troy. He was born March 18, 1928 in Detroit. While in the Army during the Korean Conflict, Charles was stationed in Germany. He worked as a die sinker at many shops throughout the Metro Detroit area. He was a member of Arion Verein, which was a German club located on the Eastside. Mr. Ruff was an avid woodworker, making tables, trains and even a grandfather clock. He enjoyed baking bread and listening to classical music and opera. As an electronics hobbyist, he enjoyed building and repairing radios, stereos and amps. Mr. Ruff is survived by his loving wife, Margaret; children, Charles K. Ruff, Beth (Donald) Schmalenberg and Neil (Eva) Ruff; grandchildren, Sandra (Daryl) McCue, Paul Schmalenberg, Matthew Ruff, Samantha Ruff; great grandson, Duncan McCue; sister, Carolyn Gentz; sister-in-law, Barbara Ruff; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He is predeceased by his parent, Ernest and Adelaide Ruff; and brother, Ernest Ruff. Visitation for Mr. Ruff will be Tuesday from 3-9 pm at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover at Common (12 Mile). The funeral service will be Wednesday 10:00 am at the funeral home. Interment will be at White Chapel Cemetery, Troy.
