Betty Jane Sylvester, age 85, a longtime resident of Saint Clair Shores, died February 18, 2013 at St. John Hospital in Detroit, Michigan. Betty was born on August 15, 1927 to Glenn and Marie Jacobs in East Detroit, Michigan. She attended school in Detroit and later worked as a bookkeeper for A&P Grocery Store for over 40 years. Betty and her late husband were both very hard workers and provided well for their two sons. When Betty was not working she was a wonderful mother and wife. She enjoyed her trips to Northern Michigan to visit family and relatives. Also she cherished the time spent visiting with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.Mrs. Sylvester was the beloved wife of the late Jack B. Sylvester, and is the dear mother of David (Susan) Sylvester, and Stephen (Carrie) Sylvester. She is also survived by five grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
