Barbara Lee Wolfe, born on March 24, 1938, in Detroit, MI, to Russell and Julia (Gavron) Wolfe, passed away peacefully on September 25, 2024, surrounded by her loving family.
As an only child, Barbara was raised by her devoted mother, Julia, and later cherished the time spent with her family. She lived together with her mom, grandparents, Joseph and Mary Taylor, and her Aunt Millie. Their bustling household was filled with laughter and love, creating memories that Barbara treasured throughout her life.
From a young age, Barbara had a passion for music, playing the piano and nurturing a love for local musicians, whom she supported at various venues as a young adult. She also enjoyed bowling and had a playful spirit that sometimes extended to the golf course.
Barbara began her career as a manicurist at Saks Fifth Avenue, where she worked for seven years. She then transitioned to working in the automotive industry as an administrative employee for Chrysler.
In her free time, Barbara had a zest for life, often indulging in gambling and playing the lottery—every day brought a hopeful thrill of possibility. She also loved gathering with friends for weekly card games, where laughter and friendship filled the air.
A true animal lover, Barbara generously donated her time to local rescue organizations and was actively involved with the Michigan Humane Society. Her charitable nature extended beyond animals; she was known for her kindness and support toward family and friends, always offering a helping hand or a listening ear.
Barbara's good heart and generosity left an indelible mark on all who knew her. She will be deeply missed by her family and friends, but her spirit and the memories shared will forever remain in their hearts.
Visitation for Barbara will take place on Sunday, September 29, 2024 between 1:00 pm and 5:00 pm held at D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home.
A Funeral Service for Barbara will take place on Monday, September 30, 2024 at 11:00 am, with a visitation beforehand beginning at 10:30 am, also at the funeral home.
