Arlene May Antoine, age 93, died Saturday, July 16, 2016 at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren. Arlene was born May 19, 1923 in Detroit, daughter of the late Otto and the late Marie (nee: Mueller) Bier. Arlene was a devoted wife, mother, and grandmother (to include both great & great-great grandchildren as well),...a wonderful matriarch to her large & loving family. Her happiest times in life were those spent with her precious family and friends, enjoying each moment and creating the memories that would last a lifetime. Yet this brief synopsis of Arlene's life just wouldn't be complete if not to mention the incredible responsibility she endured, and arose victorious, following the death of her husband at an early age. For this young widow with seven children in her care, Arlene was now compelled to fill the roles of both mother and father,...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and" target="_blank" rel="nofollow">...and managed it all with the strength and compassion of a saint. She surely accomplished something magnanimous as her quiver was filled to overflowing.Aside from her responsibilities at home, Arlene was also known for her skills in bookkeeping which she put to work for both the Gift Shop at St. John Macomb Hospital in Warren, as well as the East Detroit Chapter of the Fraternal Order of Eagles. At the hospital, she volunteered her services there for over 20 years,...and at the Eagles, it was more of a lifetime relationship with over 50 years of dedication and service. She was truly a proud member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles,...and held many-a-member under her wings.Arlene was never known for being idle; she loved keeping her hands busy. Renowned for being quite the seamstress, Arlene loved to sew; a skill that came in handy with seven kids under tow. She was also known for her love of crafts and would spend countless hours exercising her skills and talents in creating pieces of her own. And of all the memories that will keep Arlene close, her love of singing will forever bring a smile to those who were lucky enough to hear her "croon-a-tune." Arlene was the beloved wife of the late Irvin. Dearest mother of Charles (Mary) McGuckin, Terry (James) Adams, Mary (Richard) Noll, Mike (fiance, Joyce Luczkovich) McGuckin, Paul (Ann) McGuckin, Leo (Robin) McGuckin, Joanne (Tim) Noll, and the late Patricia. Loving grandmother of 36, great-grandmother of 54, and great-great grandmother of 2. Visitation for Arlene will be held Wednesday, July 20th from 3-9 pm, with a 7:00 pm Eagles Memorial Service, at the D.S.
