Anharid was welcomed into this world on March 20, 1944 to parents James and Florence Muhmey, becoming the oldest of her siblings. Anharid had a passion for learning, and went on to attend Central Michigan University to get her Bachelors in Education in 1966. Shortly after receiving her Bachelors, Anharid met the love of her life, Lawrence Farrell. The pair hit it off, and eventually married on August 25, 1967.
From there, she taught at Hazel Park Community Schools, dedicating 33 years of her life until she retired in 2001. Anharid taught home economics, and quickly became the teacher that students could go to when they needed advice or just someone to talk to. She had a huge impact on her students, and many kept in contact with her after they graduated.
After retiring from teaching, Anharid went on to enjoy many things. Being that she spent her winters in Florida, Anharid became an avid golfer and pickle ball player. Not only this, but she loved attending Zumba classes with her friends. She had a lot of friends, even keeping in contact to this very day with her roommates from college. Anharid was a social butterfly to say the least. When she wasn’t in Florida, she was back in home in Michigan spending time with her grandchildren. Anharid was so proud to be a Nana, and she made sure her grandchildren knew how proud she was of them, and how much she loved them. She would attend almost every sporting event that her grandchildren had, and would be the loudest one cheering from the stands. When the grandchildren didn’t have sporting events, Anharid would take her grandchildren to her cottage that she had up in the thumb of Michigan and they would enjoy their summers there.
Anharid Florence Farrell was a light in this world, and would be missed by so many.
Anharid was preceded in death by her husband, Lawrence Farrell, and son Lorne Farrell.
Anharid is survived by her loving daughter, Meghan (James) LaBay; cherished grandchildren, Devon Farrell, Carson Farrell, Ethan LaBay, Quinn LaBay, Griffin LaBay, and Molly Jane LaBay; loving sister of Hillary (Michael) Samuelson; as well as many nieces and nephews.
