Alvin F. Simek, age 93 of Warren, died December 9, 2012 at Father Murray Nursing Center. Alvin was born April 16, 1919, in Detroit, Michigan the son of the late Emmanuel and the late Antoinette (nee: Puncochar) Simek. Alvin served in England as a Staff Sgt. in the Army Air Corps during WWII, and was a proud usher at St. Raymond's Catholic Church for 56 years. Alvin was the beloved husband, of 69 years, to Elizabeth. He was a dear father of Jim (Vickie), John, Mary Ann (Ken) Demski, Mark (Sandra), and Richard. Loving grandfather of Stephanie, Leslie, Samantha; and great-grandfather of Braun, Adeline, and Samantha. Brother of Lydia Mara. Visitation for Alvin will be Thursday from 2-9pm, with a 7pm Rosary, at the D.S. Temrowski & Sons Funeral Home, 30009 Hoover Road at Common (12 ½ Mile Rd).
