Antonio Vargas Cordova, 84, went home to his Lord and Savior Saturday, August 27, 2016. Antonio was born in Knippa, Texas on June 13, 1932 to his parents Francisco and Antonia Cordova. He was the 4th child of 20. Antonio lived in Uvalde, Texas until 1947 and then moved to the Harrah/Wapato area where he made his permanent home. Antonio was happily married to his wife Lupe for 51 years. They were married on October 29, 1965 in Kootenai County, Idaho. They enjoyed traveling to Mt. Vernon every year to visit family.
Antonio enjoyed dancing, gardening, listening to music, and going to yard sales. Antonio greatest enjoyment came from working on his yard. He took great pride in making sure his yard always looked the best! Antonio was a loving husband, devoted father, wonderful brother, and a great uncle.
Antonio is survived by his wife, Lupe; daughters, Pauline (Michael) Pestana and Sally Perez; and his son Richard Cordova. He is also survived by his siblings, Valente Cordova, Felix Cordova, Joe Cordova, Salome Cordova, Jesse Cordova, Richard Cordova, Frank Cordova, and one sister, Mary Sanchez.
He was preceded in death by his parents Francisco and Antonia Cordova; brothers Estanislado Cordova, Savas Cordova, and Mike Cordova; and his son Joseph Ortega.
Visitation and viewing will be held on Wednesday, August 31, 2016 from 3-7:00 p.m. with a Vigil Service beginning at 6:00 p.m. at Merritt Funeral Home in Wapato, WA. The Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Thursday, September 1, 2016 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Peter Claver Catholic Church in Wapato, WA with graveside service to follow at Reservation Community Memorial Park on West Wapato Road. Merritt Funeral Home is entrusted with the arrangements.
