Charlene Yvonne Fink

Charlene Yvonne Fink passed away on March 14, 2019 at the age of 89; she was born in Peoria, Illinois. She was married to Dr. Richard B. Fink, DVM. Dr. Fink and his wife Yvonne were the original owners of the Whittier Blvd. Animal Hospital, in Whittier, California. The family moved to California in 1950, first to the Whittier area and then to Hacienda Heights, and raised their family of two daughters and two sons. The couple traveled around the world, especially due to his being the President of the American Veterinary Medical Association, and made many life long friends.

Yvonne was a talented artist and loved dancing. Along with her two daughters they were very involved with breeding, training and showing in various equestrian activities, especially eventing. Being married to a veterinarian, the family had a menagerie of animals around the house, including peacocks, chickens, pheasants, dogs, cats, rabbits, sheep, goats and a lama.

The family was very active water and snow skiers, and made many camping trips to California lakes and the Colorado River, as well as a great many mountain tops, both domestic and international.

She is survived by her two daughters, Valerie Morris (husband Ben) and Jennifer Heckendorn (husband Scott), Patty Fink (widow of Steven), grandchildren; Benjamin Morris, Tamara Pallott, Katie Heckendorn, Sarah Heckendorn, Natasha Sorrell, Blake Heckendorn, Melissa Briggs, Ryan Fink; great grandchildren, Connor, Caden and Ashlyn Pallott, Stella and Rory Briggs, Theodore Sorrell, Harrison Heckendorn, and Brady Fink. She is also survived by her extended Alaska Family, including brother and sister in law, and many nephews and nieces, also Patti Fink’s children; Charity Francis and Bill Cooper.

She was predeceased by her beloved husband and both sons, Steven and Bartley, also Bartley’s wife Peggy.

She will be interred with her deceased husband at the Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Rowland Heights, California.
