William was born November 19, 1949 in Washington, DC to the late William and Barbara G Patton. He graduated from Potomac High School in Maryland. William was a member of Sacred Heart Church in La Plata, Maryland.
He was united in marriage to Sharon L Costantino on June 18, 1972 out of that union they had two son’s William Joseph Patton, Danny Michael Patton and one daughter Dawn Michelle Patton-Brake.
He serviced six years in the United Stated Army National Guard; were he received Honorable discharge June 1974, as Military police while attending Post Engineering Heating Equipment Utilization School where he graduated from in October, 1971. After the military he attended HVAC trade school while working as in apprentice for different air conditioning and heating companies throughout Maryland a still working nights at the Washington Post printing press division to provide for his family. After graduating, he decided to open his own business PATTON Air Conditioning and Heating on April, 1981 where he worked tirelessly until death.
Mr. Patton is survived by his wife Sharon L Patton of fifty-three years, two sons and one daughter William J. Patton (Erin E.), Danny M. Patton (Leigh M.) and Dawn M, Brake (James O Jr.). He also leaves to cherish his memory ten grandchildren: Haley, William, Mason, Reese, Stella, Tavian, Jasmine, James III, Joseph, Jonathan and five great grandchildren: Aurora, Asher, Emmeline, Noelle and Tavian Jr.
He is also survived by his brother Robert B Patton, four sister-in-law’s and three brother-in-law’s and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
