William "Billy" Mitchell left this world on March 7, 2013 to be with the Lord. Billy lost his long and courageous battle with heart disease and diabetes. Billy was born on May 28, 1945 in Washington, D.C.
Billy was raised by his grandparents, William and Ermina Godbout in Capitol Heights, Maryland. Billy attended schools in Capitol Heights and went on to work in the heating and air conditioning business with his brother Jesse and Rowan Heating Company from which he retired.
Billy was a "self taught" "free spirit," who was the master of restoring cars. His most prized possession was "She's a Lady" a car he restored.
Billy is survived by his wife Christine M. Mitchell and his sisters June Green and Louise Fillmann. He is also survived and loved by many first cousins, nephews, nieces, sister and brother-in-laws as well as many friends.
Billy was predeceased by his only son William Matthew Mitchell, Jr., his brother Jesse Herbert Mitchell, his parents, grandparents, aunts and uncles and four nephews.
Family will receive friends on Wednesday, March 13, 2013 from 2:00 - 4:00 and 6:00 - 8:00 pm. at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland, where funeral services will be held on Thursday, March 14, 2013 at 10:00 am. Burial will be at Resurrection Cemetery, Clinton, Maryland
