Wanda Lee Woodburn

Wanda Lee Woodburn, 82, passed away peacefully on October 7, 2023, at Charleston Senior Community. She was born on September 27, 1941, to James G. and Valetta Murdock in La Plata, Maryland. Wanda Lee Woodburn was a loving mother, grandmother, and friend who touched the lives of many with her kindness and generosity.

Throughout her life, Wanda Lee Woodburn was known for her passion for outdoor adventures, which she shared with her family and friends. She was an avid bicyclist, reader and enjoyed many extraordinary adventures.

She will be deeply missed by her surviving family members, daughter Sharon Louise Johnson (Ricky Johnson), Grandchildren Benjamin Graham Bowling (Alena von Assel), William Baker Bowling (Sarah Bowling), and Emily Marie Bowling (Zach Hugel). Great Grandchildren Audrina, Aliyai, Camdyn, Kamdyn, Damien, Cannon and Charles. Wanda’s memory will forever be cherished in the hearts of those who knew her.

A memorial service will be held on October 12 at Huntt’s Funeral Home, where family and friends can gather to celebrate her life. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Hospice of Charles County in her honor.

Wanda leaves behind a legacy of love and warmth that will continue to inspire those who were fortunate enough to know her. May she rest in peace.

A funeral service will occur Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 12:00 PM, 3035 Old Washington Rd, Waldorf, Maryland 20601. A burial will occur Thursday, October 12, 2023 at 1:00 PM at Trinity Memorial Gardens, 3221 Mattawomen Beantown Road, Waldorf, Maryland, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
