Virginia Lee Gray Mehlfelt

Virginia-Lee Gray Mehlfelt, 95, of Lehigh Acres, Florida, passed away on Thursday, February 11, 2016, at the Hope Health Care Services facility in Lehigh Acres, Florida, of natural causes. She was born on August 3, 1920, to Lee Roy Gray and Janet L. Murray Gray in Washington, D.C. She was predeceased in death by her parents, one brother, Donald R. Gill (Joan), one brother-in-law, Robert Hood (Barbara) and her son, Michael L. Allen (Elaine).

She is survived by her sisters, Martha Murphy (John), Barbara Hood (Robert), and sister-in-law, Joan Gill (Donald). Survivors also include her daughters, Elizabeth A. Berrio (Luis), Jennifer L. Hynes (Allen), daughter-in-law, Elaine H. Allen (Michael), ten grandchildren, ten great-grandchildren, one great-great grandchild and numerous friends.

Virginia Lee spent the majority of her life in Washington, D.C., Virginia, Maryland, and Florida. She worked for over twenty years as a preschool teacher until retiring and moving to Florida.

A service in her memory will be held June 4, 2016, at 1:00 p.m. at the Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD.
