Ruth Walley Wrye

Ruth W. Wrye died on November 18, 2012 at the age of 91. She was born January 12, 1921 in Morrisday, Pennsylvania. She was preceded in death by her loving husband, Lee Wrye, whom she missed greatly. Ruth was a devout Christian and lived her life for Jesus. She loved her family and was a wonderful, meticulous crafter. She made beautiful decorated eggs, chrismons and was an exceptional seamstress. Ruth was a devoted mother and wife.

She is survived by her son, Dennis Wrye and his wife Debbie, her daughter, Karen Surratt and her husband Bill Schweinfurth, grandchildren: Tim Wrye and wife Stacy, Jessy Coffman and husband Jason, Laura Schachter and husband Jonathan, Jason Surratt and wife Tayleah and Mindy Surratt and husband Tim Meehan; great-grandchildren: Jordan Wehrle, Taylor, Cloee and Jackson Wrye; Colt, Nash and Clay Coffman; Jake and Sophia Schachter; Harper and Miles Surratt; and Siara and Tadhgan Meehan.

A Memorial Service will be held at LaPlata United Methodist Church on Saturday, December 1, 2012 at 11:00 am. In the summer of 2013, a Memorial Service will be held in her hometown of Morrisdale, Pennsylvania. Donations can be made to UMCOR, designated for Haiti. Arrangements handled by The Huntt Funeral Home, Waldorf, Maryland.
