Robert Green Jr., age 76, passed away on Friday, October 4, 2024 at Charles Regional Medical Center in La Plata. He was born and raised in Fordyce, Arkansas by Lettie Ann Smith. Robert was the youngest of 3 children. After graduating from high school Robert went on to become a tradesperson in Brick Masonry. Robert then went on to enlist into the United States Army, where he honorably served for 21 years. His service included 2 tours in Vietnam as an Infantryman. Upon completion of his Vietnam tours, Robert continued to serve with duties of Drill Sergeant, Recruiter, and as an Instructor at the Northern Warfare Training Center (NWTC) at Ft. Greely, Alaska where he trained U.S. Army Cadets in Mountaineering and Cold Weather Operations. Following his Army retirement, Robert continued to serve soldiers through working as a Department of the Army Civilian. Robert was a quiet professional who loved mentoring and serving Soldiers.
Robert is survived by his wife, Jitprasong Green, 3 sons and daughter: Denzel Green, Hilary (Green) Baughman and son-in-law, Bryce Baughman, Robby Green, Bobby Green, as well as his granddaughters: Teaya and Janea Green. Robert also proudly helped raise 3 step children: Ishmah Bailey, Dorcas Bailey, and Ashleigh Cooper.
