Peter Francis. Donovan

Peter Francis Donovan died October 15, 2010 at Washington Hospital Center, Washington, D.C. He was 77. A resident of Waldorf, Maryland Peter was born July 24, 1933 in New York City, New York. He was a veteran of the US Navy. He was a Navy Air Plane Mechanic from 1951 - 1955. He was Honorably Discharged. He was an alumni of Florida State University, graduated in 1963. He retired from the Defense Mapping Agency as a Cartographer making maps. He worked there for 44 years. Peter was a loving husband, father and grandfather. Preceded in death by his father James Jeremiah Donovan and his mother Brigid Somers and his older brother Thomas Donovan. Survivors include his wife of 43 years Gwen Donovan, his daughters Cathleen Oroian and Casey Martin, his granddaughters Ayla and Miranda. Visitation wll be held on Tuesday, October 26, 2010 from 10:00 - 12:00 Noon at the Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland where funeral service will be at 12:00 Noon. Interment will be at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland. Donations may be made in Peter's name to the Salvation Army, 12025 Trade Zone Court, Waldorf, Maryland 20601.
