Born on 29 June 1935 in Washington, DC, he was the son of the late Ohmer Watson Webb Jr. and Agnes Webb.
Ohmer graduated from Suitland High School in 1952. He enlisted in the US Airforce and served on active duty from 1954 to 1957. He drove delivery trucks for Coca-Cola company while attending Strayer University and attaining an Associate’s Degree in business administration. He then opened and operated Bladensburg Transmission for 51 years. He was a member of the Prince George’s Rod and Gun Club. Ohmer was the club manager and treasurer for the Millington Sportsmen’s Association. An avid trap shooter, he was a member of the Amateur Trapshooting Association and was inducted in to the Eastern United States Trapshooting Hall of Fame on 28 September 2001. When he wasn’t shooting at targets, he was retelling the stories of past competitions and shooters with his comrades. Ohmer liked golfing, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed being by the Chesapeake Bay on the Eastern Shore. When eating steamed crabs, Ohmer was a man of few words focusing his attention on peeling and eating the crabs. He was a loving and dedicated husband and father who believed in hard work and passing those values to his children. His favorite sayings were “Okey Doki, “It will all work out,” “Stay on it till you get it done.”
Ohmer is survived by his; daughter Sheryl Adams (George); three sons Ohmer Webb III (Donna); Joseph E. Webb; Michael K. Webb; 8 grandchildren; Chrissy Wozniak (Jason), Ohmer Webb IV, Devin Webb, Tara Webb, Travis Webb, Michael Webb, Brian Webb, and Nicole Elmore, 7 great grandchildren; Kiara Wozniak, Spencer Wozniak, Emma Wood, Connor Elmore, Declan Elmore, Autumn Lovett, Alicia Webb, his sisters, Dee Leslie and Shirley Davis and, sister-in-law Harriet Beggarly. He is predeceased by his wife of 67 years, Doris Frances Webb.
A memorial gathering for Ohmer will be held Saturday, September 30, 2023 from 10:00 AM to 11:00 AM at Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Rd, Waldorf, Maryland 20601, followed by a memorial service at 11:00 AM.
