Mary Zimmerman

Mary S. Zimmerman died January 26, 2012 at Civista Medical Center at the age of 89. Mrs Zimmerman was a resident of White Plains, Maryland. Retired from the Federal Government after 43 years (34 at SBA), and from JC Penney (20years). Mrs. Zimmerman graduated from Catholic University. She was a devoted mother, grandmother and great-grandmother who loved spending time with her family. She loved to go to the beach and go on Caribbean curises. She loved old movies and her favorite TV shows. Mrs. Zimmerman was born on February 3, 1922 in Clarksburg, West Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Leslie and Sybilla Stickles. She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Zimmerman, Sr.. Survivors include brother and sister-in-law Leslie and Shirley Stickles, son Robert Zimmerman, Jr., Daughter and son-in-law Carol and Michael Powers, grandchildren Sandy Hudson (Mark), Tammy Swank (David), Robert Powers, Gwayla Chase, Great-grandchildren, Kari Hudson, Kimberly Swank, Brandon Swank, Nick Swank and numerous nieces, nephews, friends and extended family. Family will receive friends on Sunday February 5, 2012 fro 10:00 to 2:00 pm. at The Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, Maryland where services will be held on Monday at 11:30am. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland. Memorial donations may be made in Mrs. Zimmerman's name to St. Jude's Children Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN. 38105
