Martha Elfrieda Robinson

Martha was born Martha Elfrieda Petzold on March 17, 1923 in Dresden, Germany. Martha arrived in this country in 1926 at the age of three along with her sister Erica Petzold and her Mother Elizabeth Petzold, her father Willy Petzold having arrived 2 years earlier.

Martha loved horses and opened a stable, boarding horses, teaching riding lessons to many of the children in Charles County. She enjoyed having horse shows both western and English. Many a weekend was spent doing both with the help of her family.

In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband Hubert Franklin Robinson and her sister Erica Blevins. Also preceded by Grandsons Robin Thompson and Mark Thompson and son-in-law Harold Thompson.

She is survived by her son Hubert William Robinson and his wife Donna Robinson, her two daughters Elizabeth Ann Thompson and Kay Francis Estes and her husband George Estes. Nephew Richard Blevins and his wife Georgia Blevins. She is also survived by grandchildren, Renee Pontorno, George Estes Jr., Sharon Ellis, Shawn Thompson, Robin Robinson and Morgan Robinson and 13 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Wednesday October 23 from 2-4 pm and 6-8 pm at Hunt Funeral Home in Waldorf, MD where service will be held on Thursday October 24 at 10:00 am. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Association.
