Margaret Strickland, 88 or Waldorf, MD, passed in peace Wednesday, January 20, 2016.

A celebration of her life and visitation will be held Friday, January 29, 2016. Friends and family may attend from 4:00- 7:00 PM at Huntt Funeral Home, 3035 Old Washington Rd., Waldorf MD.

The funeral service will be held at Huntt funeral home on January 30, 2016 at 11:30 AM with Pastor Neil Grobler officiating, burial to immediately follow at Trinity Memorial Gardens in Waldorf, MD.

Margaret was born on January 15, 1928 in Cheraw, S.C. to the late George and Alma Pratt. Margaret married Samuel “Sam” Strickland December 4, 1946. She was a stay at home mother and worked as a farmer’s wife for several years before relocating to Maryland. She enjoyed fishing with Sam; they often would spend all day on the bay. She had a passion for Quilting, and loved to cook for the family and family gatherings.

Margaret is survived by her son Donald Strickland and wife Mary, daughter Samantha Bailey and her husband Kyle, son-in-law Eddie Viering, Eight grandchildren, thirteen great grandchildren, and three sisters, Lily Coward, Victoria Ward, and Bee Killingworth. Margaret was preceded in death by her husband Sam Strickland, daughter Loradeen Viering, brothers Frank and George Pratt, sisters Norman Reames and Christine Burnette. Pallbearers will be T.J. Worthington, Erik Bailey, James Strickland, Joseph Christman, Joe Blochowicz, and Dan Smith. Honorable Pallbearers will be Francis Brawner Jr. and Tyler York.
