James H. Grove

James H. Grove died at the age of 80 on April 15, 2012 at The Southern Maryland Hospital Center. He was born on January 8th 1932 in Ashville Pennsylvania to the late Garrett and Margaret Grove. Mr. Grove was a resident of Waldorf, Maryland. He retired as a MSgt. in the U.S. Air Force after having served 23 years,. He also retired as a Communications Supervisor after 20 years with Metro, fondly known by his grandchildren as "PAPPAP'S Metro". James, a Roman Catholic was a longtime parishioner of St. Peter's Catholic Church, Waldorf, Maryland. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife of 50 years Marie Grove, daughter Dolores and grandson Eric James Grove. He is survived by his son, Alan James Grove, daughter Theresa Marie. Almeida and her husband Mario, grandchildren, Kenneth Alan Grove, Patrick Alan Grove and Sarah Marie Almeida, great-grandchildren, Riley Grove, Allyssa Grove, Kya Grove and Carli Jo Grove, sisters, Mary Catherine Peduzzi and Dolores "Dolly" Grove. Family will receive friends at The Huntt Funeral Home on Friday, April 20, 2012 from 1:00PM until time of service at 3:00 pm. Burial will take place at Maryland Veterans' Cemetery, Cheltenham, Maryland. Deacon John Barnes will officiate. Donations may be made in Mr. Grove's name to The Alzheimer's Association or The American Diabetes Association.
