Elsie (Green) Palmer, 87, passed away early February 3, 2014, in LaPlata, MD, from causes incident to age. She was the first of 4 surviving children born to Parley and May (Yates) Green. She was predeceased by her parents and brothers. She married Terrance R. “Terry” Palmer in 1958, and they are the parents of 3 children.
Elsie was a homemaker who enjoyed her lifetime membership in the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints where she served in various ways. She especially liked to play the piano for the children’s organization. When she was younger, she enjoyed sewing and handiwork. She loved reading and crossword puzzles. She worked at Country Nutrition in Waldorf for many years and enjoyed helping people learn about vitamins and nutrition. She lived a long, good life and will be missed by family and friends.
She is survived by her children: Linda and Michael Moyes; Robert and Kelly Palmer; and Terry Palmer. She leaves 11 grandchildren and 1 great-grandchild with another on the way. She enjoyed being with her family and was proud of their accomplishments.
A viewing will be held Friday, February 7, 2014, from 7 to 8 p.m. at the White Plains chapel of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, 4560 Padgett Road, White Plains, MD. Her funeral will be Saturday, February 8, at 10 a.m. at the same location. Burial will be in Trinity Memorial Gardens, Waldorf.
