Dorothy Marie Wood

Dorothy Marie Beasley Wood passed away gently on May 28, 2015 at Solomons Nursing Center. She was born on January 1,1925 into the family of Henry Jacob Whitmer and Amie Beatrice Whitmer. She was the third of 18 children. Dorothy was married to the late Russell Charles Beasley and the late Robert Wood. She is survived by her daughter, Barbara Jean Robertson and her son and daughter-in-law, Charles Lemuel Beasley and Deborah Joyleen Beasley. She was the proud grand-mother to 5 grand-children and 7 great grand-children,1 great great grandchild.Dorothy is also survived by 8 brothers and sisters. Dorothy was an avid gardener and devoted to her many cats over the years. She loved to rock out to Elvis and enjoyed his movies. She will be sorely missed by her family and friends. A graveside service will be held at the Charles Memorial Gardens Cemetery, St. Mary's County, Maryland, June 24, 2015 at 11am. A celebration of life will be held after services at Captain Leonard's Seafood Restaurant on Rte. 235. In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the Solomons Nursing Center in Solomons, Maryland.
