Carolyn Walker Bowie

Carolyn was born in Huntington, West Virginia. She graduated from Huntington High and attended Marshall University (Go Herd!). In 1955, Carolyn married and moved to Maryland to start her family. Carolyn began her career with the Library of Congress, then moved on to various Hallmark stores for 30 years but her favorite job was being a mom.

Carolyn is preceded in death by her loving husband Kenneth of 58 years, her parents Leah Ida and Carl Edward Walker and her brother Thomas E. Walker. She is survived by her children Keith Bowie (Ellen), Kirk Bowie (Patricia), Kimberly Bean (Bernie), Karla Hersh (Robert) and Kristen Holmes (Allan); brother-in-law Gary Keith Bowie, Sr.; (Helen); sister-in-law Patricia Walker; 12 grandchildren Tiffany, Zachary, Kyle, Timothy, Brittany, Matthew, John, Iain, Karl, Molly, Sam, and Walker; and 4 great grandchildren Lucas, Rory, Evie, and Asher.

A Memorial Gathering will be held Thursday, August 15th from 11:00am to 12:00pm at the Huntt Funeral Home. A Memorial Service will be held at 12:00pm at the Huntt Funeral Home located at 3035 Old Washington Road, Waldorf, MD 20601.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
