Albert Gual, a devoted father, beloved brother, cherished grandfather, and loyal friend, passed away on March 25, 2025. He leaves behind a legacy of love, laughter, and dedication to family. He is survived by his daughter, Jennifer, his sister, Jeannette Melendez (née Gual), his two grandsons, as well as nieces, nephews, extended family, and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, Alba Gual (née Olivera), and his brother, Wilfred Gual.
Albert was born on May 28, 1964, to Alba and Agustin “Papo” Gual. Raised in the Bronx, NY, Albert’s adventurous spirit and boundless curiosity were evident from a young age. He found joy in music, roller skating, fishing, and baseball, and in his younger years, he skillfully built model cars, an early sign of his patience and meticulous nature.
In 1983, Albert married and joined the U.S. Air Force, where he proudly served until 1987. It was during this time, in 1985, that he and his wife welcomed their daughter—his "invaluable incarnation," as he so often called her. After his military service, Albert dedicated himself to protecting public health, working briefly as a security guard before beginning a remarkable 40-year career with the Food and Drug Administration.
Albert was a man of quiet strength, deep loyalty, and unwavering love for his family. His presence was a source of comfort, his joking laughter contagious, and his wisdom profound. He will be dearly missed by all who had the privilege of knowing him.
Rest in peace, Al. Your love and light will remain in our hearts forever.
