Wilma S. (Heminger) Takacs, age 86, of Toledo, formerly of Walbridge, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 11, 2012, in Hospice of Northwest Ohio Perrysburg. She was born on January 10, 1926 in Denver, Colorado, to Marvin and Estella (Gordon) Heminger. Wilma was a 1944 Woodward graduate. She married Emery Sr. in 1949 and soon after she held a licensed kindergarten class in her home for several years. She was a faithful serving member of 2nd Baptist and Cass Rd. Baptist Church, where she served as a Sunday school teacher, and a chairman of memorial and funeral dinners. Wilma also was active in the Deaconate Board, ABW and an officer of the ABW Association. Wilma participated in many mission trips traveling throughout the world helping the less fortunate. She was an excellent seamstress and enjoyed sharing her sewing abilities with many. She retired from J.C. Penney’s in 1987.
She is survived by her loving children, Emery Jr. (Jeannie), Robert (Tammy), and Randall (Marianne); step-daughters, Darlene Zender, Nancy (Ralph) Pearsall; grandchildren, Rudy, Kimber, Michael, Jeremiah, and Mary Rose; 18 step-grandchildren; 36 great-grandchildren; brothers, Gordon (Donna), Forrest (Delores), and Marvin (Donna). She was preceded in death by her husband Emery, her son, James; and step-son, Richard.
The family will receive guests on Friday, November 16, 2012, from 11am until the time of services at 12pm in Cass Rd. Baptist Church 1400 Cass Rd. Maumee, Ohio 43537.
