Virginia Marie Lewis

Funeral services will be 10:30 a.m., Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors Chapel with Sam Armstrong officiating.

The family will receive friends from 6:00p.m. to 8:00p.m., August 8, 2014 at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Burial will follow in Waco Memorial Park.

Virginia was born August 15, 1921 in Railton, Kentucky to Harv and Lola (Richey) Lawrence. She married the love of her life, Veachel Lewis, January 28, 1946. They traveled together while Veachel served with the US Army for 24 years, meeting many friends along the way. Virginia loved gospel song, Collecting dolls and Antiques, gardening, fishing and cooking. She also bowled with the Lake Air Bowling League. Most of all Virginia loved her family; she will be missed and loved by all who knew her.

She is preceded in death by her daughter, Eva Marlus Lawson Lewis and all of her siblings.

Those left to cherish her memory are her husband of 68 years, Veachel Lewis; son Richard Dale Littrell and wife Mary Ann of Axtell, TX; grandchildren, Michael Ward, of Nederland, TX, Kathy Ward Green and husband Larry of Kerens, TX, Darlene Lawson Brewer and husband John of Modesto, CA, Douglas Lawson of Waco, TX, Maricia Littrell Batey of Bellmead, TX, and Robert Dale Littrell of Corsicana, TX. She is also survived by 9 great grandchildren, 12 great-great grandchildren, 1 great-great-great grandchild and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be John Brewer, Larry Green, Robert Dale Littrell, Ryan Dale Littrell, Steven Pullin, Jr., and Michael Ward. Honorary pallbearer will be Douglas Arnold Lawson.
