Stella Harr 92 years old and long time resident of Boulder, Colorado died peacefully on Thursday, March 30, 2017 in Waco, Texas. Stella was born in Poland and immigrated to Canada with her family when she was 5 years old. She met Bud Harr in Edmonton while he was serving in the US Army Corps of Engineers. He was sent
to England to fight in the Battle of the Bulge. At the end of WWII he returned to the family farm in Oklahoma. Bud persuaded Stella to come on a one way train ticket from Edmonton to Oklahoma to marry him. They were married on August 4, 1945. Stella gave birth to 3 rowdy boys. In 1956 they moved to Boulder, Colorado. They bought a house where she lived for the next 50 plus years. They were married for 42 years when Bud died of heart failure in 1987. Stella loved the Lord, her family, friends, and East Boulder Baptist Church.
Stella is survived by brothers, Will Litwyn and Mike Litwyn; sons, Merlin Will and wife Linda, Bob and wife Cindy, and Gary and wife Chris; 5 grandchildren, Lemuel Harr, Amy Yoder, Jeff Harr, Janna Harr and Laura Garcia; 10 great grandchildren, Boden, Scout, Xain, Wylder, Tanner, Bryland, Maylee, Emmrey, Makayla and Caleb.
A memorial service will be held at 7:00p.m., Tuesday, April 4, at Horan & McConaty Funeral Home in Arvada. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. The burial will be held at 11:15a.m., Wednesday, April 5, at Fort Logan National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers donations may be made to East Boulder Baptist Church Deaf Ministry.
