Ruth Evelyn White

Ruth Evelyn White, 97 of Waco, passed away Monday, February 27, 2023. Graveside service will be Friday, March 3, 2023 at 2:00 p.m. at Waco Memorial Park with Pastor Tim Jarrell officiating. Visitation will be from 11:00 a.m. – 1 :00 p.m. at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors.

Ruth was born on August 15, 1925 to Frank and Margaret (Oliver) Connally in McGregor, Texas. She was a longtime resident of McLennan County. Ruth was a member of Cogdell United Methodist Church. She married the love of her life, Milton Devonne White on August 16, 1946 in Waco. She worked as a Sales Associate at Cox’s Department Store for 22 years. Ruth enjoyed working at Cox’s Department Store, fulfilling her enjoyment of fashion.

She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Milton Devonne White; son, Stuart Alan White; and brother, Frank Newton Connally.

Survivors include her daughter, Donna White Hatter and husband, Paul of Carrollton, TX; grandchildren, Aaron Hatter and wife, Nicole of Little Elm, TX, Sarah Storie and husband, Damon of The Colony, TX; great-grandchildren, Elijah Storie and Nathan Storie; and expecting another Hatter on the way.

In lieu of flowers, memorials can be made to Cogdell United Methodist Church or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.
