Ruben Hernandez

Ruben Hernandez, age 80, passed away Wednesday, August 5, 2015 in Waco, Texas. Visitation will be Tuesday, August 11, from 6-8 p.m. with Rosary recitation at 7:00 p.m. at Connally Compton Funeral Directors. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Wednesday, August 12, at 10 a.m. at St. Francis Catholic Church with Father Roman Burgos officiating and interment to follow in Oakwood Cemetery.

Ruben was born December 17, 1934 to Manuel and Maria Hernandez in CD Victoria, Tamaulipas Mexico. Ruben was a longtime resident of Waco and a member of St. Francis Catholic Church.

Ruben is preceded in death by his parents; and sister, Rachel Padilla.

Survivors include his wife, Helen Hernandez of Waco; daughter, Mary Nino and husband, Fabian of Waco; sons, Randy Hernandez of Waco and Chavelo Jimenez, Jr. and wife, Janet of Waco; grandsons, Eloy Zapata, Jr. of Waco, Ruben Zapata of Waco and James French of Montgomery, Texas; great-grandchildren: Adriana Contreras of Waco, Elias Zapata of West Covina, CA, Mia Zapata of Waco, Catalina Zapata of Waco, Barkely Ann French, Riley Harper French, Layla Nicole Gary and Braylon Morter all of Montgomery, Texas; sisters, Angie Jimenez of Waco and Susie Bass and husband, Nelson of Robinson; brother, Mateo Hernandez of Waco; numerous nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers: Chavelo Jimenez, Jr., Miguel Jimenez, Frank Jimenez, Rudy Hernandez, Steve Hernandez, Norman Mike Jimenez; Honorary Pallbearers: Eloy Zapata, Jr., Ruben Zapata and James French.
