I will always have a deep appreciation for Uncle Bob and the part he played in serving his nation in WWII.  When friends would ask who in my family served, I always with pleasure and pride mentioned my Uncle Bob and Uncle Lowell.  They both will always be a part of who I am.  God Bless and God Speed. I can't imagine being here, on this earth without you, but the reality is that is the way it is. My heart hurts from your loss but I know you are waiting in heaven with Jesus for me.  I miss you so extremely much and think of you all the time.  Thank you God for giving me the best Papa ever and giving me so many wonderful memories and times with him.  My love ALWAYS!

Bob was a wonderful uncle, a wonderful friend, and someone you could count on.  I was married in Bob and Demp's home, so I have so many very special memories of them and their generosity.  I used to run over to the house for lunch when I worked and lived in Waco.  I ate dinner with them many times, and always ended up washing the dishes.  I always accursed them of cleaning out the cabinets when I was washing the dishes.  I know I washed many more dishes than we used for dinner!  We had lots of laughs over that! 

I went on transmitter hunts with Bob, Demp and Little Bobby on Sunday afternoons - what laughter, and fun we had! 

It's hard to think of Bob without thinking of Demp, and hard to think of Demp without thinking of Bob.  They were inseparable.  I will miss Bob, even though I didn't see him often having moved to Virginia many years ago, but I will always remember him as a handsome, soft spoken, giving, easy going man.  I pray for Demp, Bobby, Sandy and the rest of the family, as they navigate life without Bob's presence.  It will be hard, but I know they have comfort in knowing the way he lived his life, and we can all say, "job well done".

My Dad worked with Bob at Waco Communications and thought well of Bob. I worked with Bob at the MKT RR and he was a great guy. You will be missed Bob.

I wrote this poem several years ago.  When I found it again, I thought of Uncle Bob.

I wish that I could be there
To comfort you my friend
To put my arms around you 
And ease the journeys end.

He is so very special
God's bidding he did answer
And in the greatest heaven
He is a might dancer.

With wings upon his shoulders
And glory in his eyes
It makes it somewhat easier
To say our earthly byes.

To those left here behind him
We hold onto the thought
That all his peace and serenity 
Was all so greatly bought.

We love him all so dearly
The years were not so long
But you can see God's blessings
Don't weep...He sings a heavenly song.

Prayers top Bob and Amanda from their Workforce family.

Mrs. Chapman, Bobby and family, Although I was a small child when we lived next door, I still remember him and the kind man he was. He always watched out for his family and his neighbors. He was always tinkering on something. May he Rest in Peace and may God be with you to help you through this difficult time.

I'll remember the sound of his happy upbeat voice when he knew it was me who had called.
 
I'll remember during one summer's visit I thought I'd learn the Morse Code so I could be a Ham Operator like Uncle Bob - W5BHX - W5-Baker-Henry-Xray. 
 
I'll remember the train and tracks he built for you, Bobby, and that it was the most elaborate and interesting I've ever seen.
 
When visiting your parents there was always that special feeling of the love and connection of being family. 
 
We were all loved as much by our own parents, but I will say that no one was loved more than you, Bobby, as you were by your parents -- and then that love and pride extended down to all in your family. 
 
Uncle Bob was always a joy to be around and I will always miss him. 
 
Now ... his eternal future is secure. 
 
In that, we are all blessed.

Thank you for being a wonderful brother throughout my life.  When we were children we did have some times when I could have sent you away, but only for a little while.  When you went to the 3 'C's, it broke my heart for you were always my friend.  You took me on dates that I would never have gotten to go on otherwise.  We danced a lot.  I am thankful for the great wife you've had and a wonderful son and family.  I feel you are smiling down on us....don't tease the angels.  I love you and your family.  Everyone has always been so great to us.  Bobby and all your family, I love you.  Your Auntie "Annie" (my dear brothers' pet name for me)

I have such wonderful childhood memories with my former next door neighbors, the Chapmans!  Mr. Chapman was a kind man with a great sense of humor.  Always looked forward to those Halloweens visits because I knew he would have those huge rubber spiders hanging down by the front door.  I can still hear the rock tumbler he always had going in his carport. Wonderful people, Mr. and Mrs. Chapman!  God bless!

Mr. Chapman was such a wonderful man, I grew up with him as a second grandfather, and while he may no longer be just two houses down, he will always be close in my heart.

Great Uncle Bob, I can say that my brief meeting of you was memorable and it will remain with me for the rest of my days. May you rest in peace. My Uncle Bob was a very gentle, soft-spoken man.  I so enjoyed the trips I have made there over the years. I had my 18th birthday there while visiting with you and Grandma Gilmore.  Although I did not get to visit often, you and Aunt Demp opened you home and your hearts to me. Mom and I had a few great visits with you too.  I know Grandma was witing for you when you entered those gates.  I look forward to another visit with you one day.  My love to Bobby and his family.  You are in our prayers.  Dawn

The life of my brother has ended on this earth but what a marvelous journey he has begun.  What fun he was and what a tease.  He had a wonderful life and family and will be missed.
