Pete Almanza

Pete B. Almanza, Sr., 77, of Waco, went to be with his Lord and Maker on Sunday, June 25, 2017 in Waco. Mass of Christian Burial will be 10:00 AM, Saturday, July 1, 2017 at Saint Francis Catholic Church with Father Edwardo Jasso as celebrant. Interment with military honors will follow in Oakwood Cemetery. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 30th at Connally/Compton Funeral Directors at 6:00 PM with a Rosary starting at 7:00 PM.

Mr. Almanza was born on November 9, 1939 in Waco, Texas to Pablo and Maria De Jesus (Baeza) Almanza. He was a Vietnam veteran; he served his country in the United States Air Force for over 21 years. After retiring from the Air Force he went to work and retired from the Waco Post Office. He loved playing pool, working on his cars and he worked with real estate. Mr. Almanza was a member of Saint Francis Catholic Church and the VFW. He was preceded in death by his parents and brothers, Simon and Pablo Almanza, Jr.

Survivors include his wife, Teresa Lopez Almanza; son, Pete Almanza, Jr.; daughter, Anita Almanza Calvillo; sisters, Carmen Salas, Connie Martinez, Sylvia Ashley, Juanita Arechiga and Teresa Hickey; grandchildren, Vincent B. Almanza, Savannah Almanza Ramirez and Preston B. Almanza; 2 great grandchildren and numerous aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.
