Michael J. Hodnett, 77 of Waco, Texas passed away on December 15, 2024. The son of AJ and Jewel (Sellers) Hodnett, he was born in Waco in 1947.
A graduate of Scarritt College for Christian Workers (Nashville, TN) as well as Mary Hardin Baylor (Belton, TX), he was a Youth Educator in the Methodist Church and transitioned to special education teacher in the Central Texas and Southwest Texas school districts. Michael loved history, PBS and genealogy and served a term as Governor in the Society of Mayflower Descendants in the State of Texas.
Michael is survived by his partner, Marshall Swindall, his sister Judy Hodnett of Cornwall, New York, cousins James and Robin Walser of Garland, Carla Walser Smith of Wichita Falls, friends and neighbors.
A celebration of Michael's life will be arranged in the spring when the bluebonnets have bloomed. The Family requests that memorial donations be made in Michael's name to Goodwill.
