Mary Pearl (Thomas) Cotton Fussell, 95, passed away December 3, 2013, at a facility in Clifton, Texas. A burial will take place in Vernon, Indiana at a later date.
Mary was born September 17, 1918 in Jennings County, Indiana to Ross and Katherine (Fuller) Thomas. She grew up in North Vernon, Indiana and later moved to Waco in 1964. She was a beautician, dental assistant and a volunteer at Hillcrest Hospital for many years. Mary was a member of the American Iris Society and won many blue ribbons for her achievements.
She is preceded in death by her parents; her husbands, Fletcher F. Cotton and Phillips Fussell; and seven siblings.
Survivors include son, Thomas Earl Cotton and wife, Janice; two grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; one sister, Catherine T. Harrison; several nieces, nephews and close friend, Jane Anderson.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Mary's name to the charity of choice.
