Martin Tenorio

Visitation will be at 5:30 pm on Friday, February 9, 2018, with a Rosary service at 6:30 pm, at Connally Compton Funeral Directors, 4400 West Waco Drive. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 9:00 am on Saturday, February 10, 2018, at St. Francis on the Brazos Catholic Church, with Father Benjie as Celebrant, with burial at Oakwood Cemetery.

Martin was born July 29, 1921 in Whitney, Texas to Toribio and Guadelupe Cadena Tenorio. He attended school in Crawford, Texas. He married Marina Rosas on February 18, 1950. In his early life, Martin was a migrant worker with his family. He later worked on a farm and for the railroad. Martin made his career as a laborer for Cameron Mills and retired after 24 years of service. Martin is survived by Marina Rosas Tenorio; daughter, Beatrice Tenorio Salinas; grandson, David Salinas of Indiana; two granddaughters, Jennifer Maldonado and husband Lionel; Stephanie Rojas; one great-granddaughter, Denise Maldonado; three great-grandsons, Trey Maldonado, Keen Swaner and Monte Swaner, all of Waco. He is also survived by John Den of Waco, Deanna Rios of Gatesville; Dominique Sandoval of Waco; and numerous nephews, nieces and cousins.

He was preceded in death by all his siblings; his parents; and a daughter, Teresa Rosas Tenorio-Riojas.

Martin was an honorable man, who was simple, kind and forgiving. He was known by his wisdom, common sense, self-discipline and patience. Martin was a hardworking man with good work ethics and took pride in being on time. He will be missed by all who knew and loved him.

Pallbearers are Paul Torres, Chris Torres, Joe Anthony Rodriguez, Jr., Abel Ochoa, Jr., A. J. Ochoa, and Lionel Maldonado. Honorary Pallbearers are David Salinas, Fernando Torres, Jr., Stephen Torres, Cruz Torres, Dominique Sandoval and John Den.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff of Kindred Hospice especially, Christy Kazoka and Maria Rodriguez. They would like to also acknowledge Irene Rosas, Cathy Davis and James Davis for their love and support.
